by Rita Lady There are two words that have been creeping into mainstream vernacular. Tracking and tracing. It is not for nothing that media outlets, politicians, and the CDC are planting seeds about the dire necessity of COVID tracking and contact tracing. Congressman Bobby Rush (D-IL) introduced a bill that will award $100 billion dollars (fiscal year 2020) in grants to "eligible entities” for COVID testing and “related activities.” The somewhat vague bill, also known as the COVID–19 Testing, Reaching, and Contacting Everyone (TRACE) Act, encompasses the S.4315 TRACE Act, which was introduced by Senator Angus King Jr., (I-ME). There are many reasons Americans should be highly concerned about H.R.6666. Section 2 of the bill states: (a) In General. --The Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, may award grants to eligible entities to conduct diagnostic testing for COVID–19, to trace and monitor the contacts of infected individuals, and to support the quarantine of such contacts, through (1) mobile health units; and (2) as necessary, testing individuals and providing individuals with services related to testing and quarantine at their residences. Eligible entities refer to hospitals, schools, non-profits, and the most discomforting...any other entity the CDC and The Secretary of Health and Human Services qualifies. As far as we know, eligibility criteria have not been determined for these shadowy entities. Yet, bills have been introduced into Congress (with unanimous democrat votes) and the CDC, who has been contact tracing for decades according to their site, has already begun their COVID tracing strategy. Schools like Albion College in Michigan are getting in on the action early by requiring students to download a tracking app for which they have no way to opt out. If they turn off the app or their location, they risk being “removed from campus” or suspended. Apparent eligible entities such as Albion College, would be authorized to track individuals and enforce quarantines all in the name of the CDC’s ‘disease control measures.’ These government qualified entities would have authority to track your whereabouts in order to confirm your recent contacts; i.e. contact tracing. Once confirmed, the entities would have government permission to pay your friends a visit and mandate testing, track their contacts, quarantine them if necessary, and so on. Now, let’s say you test positive but others in your household do not. Dr. Michael Ryan, Executive Director of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Health Emergency Program says: “In some senses, transmission has been taken off the streets and pushed back into family units. Now we need to go and look in families and to find those people who may be sick and remove them, and isolate them, in a safe and dignified manner.” He didn’t stutter. And I am not particularly fond of the "dignified manner" language here. It reminds me of euthanasia but that's a topic for another time. Eligible entities may either remove your children from the home or have you quarantined in either a mobile holding place, a hospital/clinic, or a local state-run facility they deem qualified. Never mind that COVID findings are evolving daily and the data has reportedly been skewed (see satirical video below). Although the TRACE Act notes that nothing contained in it should be construed as “superseding any federal privacy or confidentiality requirements under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996,” section 104 of this act seems to indicate that public health and other “exceptions” may supersede some privacy requirements. Despite the wool that ‘fact-checkers’ try to pull over our eyes, one does not need to be a genius to see that this bill pales in comparison to no-knock warrants, designed for those involved in criminal activity. This is a peeping-tom type invasion of all citizens’ privacy by government assigned agents or 'eligible entities.’ If H.R. 6666 passes as is, these anonymous entities and non-profits, some of whom you may vehemently oppose, may have unfettered authority over you. This will be one small step for the U.S. government and one giant leap for totalitarian parties across the globe. Write your representative and tell them to vote NAY on this bill. Remind them that they work for us and we do not work for their six figure salaries.
