From pantheism, to peddling a one-world-religion, then the celebration of that creepy Christmas alter, Pope Francis set 2020 ablaze with rapid-fire horrors. But I guess he said, why stop there? Let's keep the ball rolling. On January 1, 2021, Pope Francis gave his first Angelus (devotional in honor of Mary) of the year where he urged people to place themselves "under the maternal and loving gaze of Mary Most Holy." The Vatican News, in an article with humanistic and pantheistic musings, states: "Pope Francis went on to explain that throughout our journey along the paths of time, “the reassuring and consoling gaze of the Blessed Virgin Mary” is one of encouragement as we entrust our anguish and torment to her, “who can do all things”. Christians do not entrust our burdens or anything else to Mary. To do so is blasphemy. The Lord Jesus Christ was clear in Matthew 11:28-30 when he stated: "Come to me, all of you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Furthermore, Mary: -is not to be worshipped, Jesus Is. (Matthew 2:10-11) -could not do all things as she was merely human and needed a savior (Luke 1:47, John 19:26-27) -is not our mediator, Jesus Is. (1 Timothy 2:5) -is not seated on the throne, Jesus Is. (Revelation 3:21) -is not resurrected and alive, Jesus Is. (1 Corinthians 15) -is not God, Jesus Is. (Isaiah 6:9) The deification of Mary isn't the only sour fruit growing from the Vatican tree. The entire focus of the article is peace; world peace. Peace with all men. Is there anything wrong with wanting peace? Of course not. Paul tells us we are to do our part to live at peace with all men. But the Bible does not teach us to strive for world peace. To be sure, James 4:4 states: "Adulteresses! Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the world’s friend becomes God’s enemy." Why? Because contrary to what the Pope and Vatican tout, being human does not make us all brothers and sisters. In fact, Jesus told his disciples: "...Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven, that person is My brother and sister and mother.” (Matthew 12:48) Jesus was speaking spiritually. It is impossible to live in peace with those who reject the Prince of Peace, who is Christ Jesus. Those who are at enmity with God do not seek to do his will. They will inevitably make decisions, laws, and contracts that are antithetical to God and his word, the Bible. They will act on behalf of the one who leads them; Satan. Here's what Jesus said to a group of religious leaders; again, reiterating the idea that not everyone is related: “...If God were your Father, you would love Me, because I came from God and I am here. For I didn’t come on My own, but He sent Me. Why don’t you understand what I say? Because you cannot listen to My word. You are of your father the Devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of liars." (John 8:42-43) The last few years has proven to many devout Catholics to be one of grave disappointment for some and utter shock for others, with 2021 set to be a doozy. This write-up is in no way attempting to demonize those who profess to be Catholic. I am simply one of many who are sounding the alarm, urging people to read their Bibles and put their hope in Christ alone and not the church. Catholic or otherwise.
